I bought it for about $ 60 and I used to pull the codes from Ford, GM and Saab cars. The process is simple and straightforward, as explained in the manual. It comes with a CD-ROM for Windows PC. Mac users can use Boot Camp or another emulator, if they wish to review your CD. I found the CD useful. This was the cheapest I found OBD scanner and it works very well. Being a generic OBD RS232 (via adapter USB2Serial) you can make your own diagnostic procedures for your car if you know what you do. Two potential drawbacks: 1) If the OBD connector is in a place very close to the pedals or other area that is difficult to see the LEDs on the box that indicates the data transfer is a kind of useless. 2) You may need an extension cable as the USB cable is not very long. You can buy an extension cord OBD May costs about $ 15 - $ 20 (that way you can see the lights and even driving a car and see if the box is obstructing the pedals) but you can also use a cable USB extension, the only problem is the length, which could be $ 3 each here on Amazon, with free shipping.
